A Different Approach to Learning

HS Learning Lab isn’t a school—and we’re not trying to recreate one.
We understand that many families choose homeschooling because traditional classrooms don’t suit every child. Our goal is to provide a welcoming, flexible environment where children feel safe, supported and accepted while engaging in meaningful learning experiences alongside other homeschoolers.
Our sessions encourage curiosity, creativity, independence and connection, allowing children to learn in ways that suit their individual strengths and interests.

Therapeutic Support Integration

Our programs include access to allied health strategies and personalized support through our collaboration with GC Therapy Hub. This integration allows us to address both educational and therapeutic needs. Together, we make strides in enhancing your child’s overall development. We understand that traditional schooling is not the right fit for every child. Many of the families we support have experienced challenges such as school anxiety, sensory overwhelm, social difficulties, or learning environments that did not meet their child’s needs. Our goal is to provide a space where children can reconnect with learning, build confidence, and experience success. Through personalised education, therapeutic support, and meaningful social connections, we help learners discover their strengths and develop a positive relationship with learning.

These are some of our most common questions:

How many teachers are there?

We have 3 teachers and cater for a ratio of 7 children per adult at all times

Are you a school, are you part of St. Vincent’s?

Our location is the Hall at 50 Fairway Drive, which is located at the St. Vincent’s primary school, but we have no affiliation with the school.

Do you support children with emotions regulation and anxiety to join into group learning?

Yes because of our connection with GC Therapy hub we have a councillor and an autism consultant on hand ready to step in when needed, all our programs are written by Nat Smith who has a teaching degree, and who is GC Therapy hub’s Autism consultant

My child does not have a diagnosis but is homeschooled, is this an environment that would suit them too?

Yes, we offer a drop off homeschooling group to all primary aged children on the Gold Coast.

Is there an additional cost for one on one supports?

Yes, should your child require a support worker they can come with their own or we can discuss their needs and provide a support worker and payment can be made for the support worker via NDIS.

What does my child need to bring with them on the day?

Once a family joins our homeschooling community a separate sheet will be emailed through setting out some information about the day that can be provided to a child so they can have an idea of what to expect and also some reminders of what items to bring along.

Is there regular communication for inclusion purposes?

Yes, we strongly understand how important any changes can impact children and try our best to inform in advance of any changes beforehand.
